The Chicago Ttees Initiative is making progress according to the office of the Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. The initiative was launched in 2009 where the public-private partnership is working to plant and care for trees in every neighborhood in the city.

The Chicago Community Trust awarded a $25,000 challenge grant, which was matched by the Parkways Doundation for plantings in Chicago parks.
