Volunteer Center of Sacramento Closes After Five Decades of Philanthropic Service


The Volunteer Center of Sacramento, a nonprofit organization, finally sold its assets when it lost funding due to the California budget crisis.

The asset-selling marks the center's closure after 50 years of serving needy individuals and families in the area. The centerís major source of funding came from individuals who would pay the center to do volunteer service for traffic tickets.
