New York Women's Foundation Awards $1.48 Million for Women and Families

The New York Women's Foundation has announced grants totaling $1.48 million to community-based organizations serving the needs of women and families in New York City.

Grants were awarded to thirty-one nonprofits working in the areas of community organizing and advocacy, economic security and justice, health and sexual rights, positive development of girls and young women, and safety.

Federal Programs Related to - Youth Development, General/Other

Programs that provide opportunities for children and youth to participate in recreational, cultural, social and civic activities through membership in clubs and other youth groups with a special focus on programs whose purpose is to help youngsters develop their potential and grow into healthy, educated, responsible and productive adults.


Co-founders William Mann and David Mravyan devised the Sensimat during a mandatory project for their MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business in Canada. Sensimat is a device that helps manage and assess pressure among wheelchair users.
