Student Entrepreneur Sews Hats To End Homelessness


Josh York hadn't anticipated that his beanies, which were sold for a dollar while he was working at the Aco Hardware, would become successful.

From this success, he decided to give back to the Detroit community by adopting the TOM'S shoes model: For every one hat he sold, he donates a hat to a homeless person in Detroit. He's trying to make a name switch, from York Apparel to the York Project, to better convey his mission of helping the area's homeless.
