Housing Vouchers Can Do Better In Expanding Access To Good Schools In Safe Neighborhoods

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program, while it helps bring families into better neighborhoods, still has the possibility of accomplishing more.

The problem is, there is still lack of access to quality schools for children in the HCV program. It is suggested that the HCV program can do better to expand children's access to good schools in safer neighborhoods, starting with changes that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) can make to bolster families' ability to relocate to safer, healthier, higher-opportunity communities.
