One-stop Health Food Shop In West Harlem Entices Residents\' Palates

The West Harlem Community Center Healthy Food Hub offers a one-stop health food shop to bring healthy food options for low-income residents.

An empty, commercial property was transformed into a healthy food pantry, where community residents can pick their own fresh food, sign up for food stamps, achieve a week-to-week market share with the Corbin Hill Food Project, and pick up healthy cooking tips from classes conducted by local chefs. This was all made possible by the Food Bank for New York City and City Harvest.
