Nonprofit Helps People with Visual Impairment


Blindness Support Services, a nonprofit organization inaugurated during the early 90s provides innovative solutions to gaining independence and self-reliance for blind and visually impaired residents of Southern California.

With Peter Benavidez as CEO of the foundation (he started volunteering for the organization way back in 1992), he makes sure community members in Southern California earn a wide variety of support services, including peer support and educational opportunities.

    Stemming from a Kickstarter campaign, a recycled water bottle roof would provide shelter for disaster victims in light of the recent devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
