Sports and Recreation Injuries Down to 12 percent in Youngsters

A new research reveals that sports and recreation musculoskeletal injuries have dropped 12.4 percent over the past decade for children ages 5 to 14 years nationwide.

The research was announced at the 2013 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). In this study, researchers examined National Electronic Injury Surveillance System data on injuries resulting from the eight sports activities and playground equipment.
