In honor of Veterans Day this November, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack enthused that the Department tirelessly works to provide opportunities for veterans, especially those living in rural areas across the country.
Vilsack shared instances where USDA offered help to aid veteran-owned rural small businesses, provided job skills and training programs, and established partnerships that help equip veterans the skills they need in business and to pursue their chosen careers. Vilsack noted, "USDA's efforts are just one piece in America's shared responsibility to support our veterans, but we believe that they have a real impact in the lives of our brave returning soldiers and their families."
