Unlike their city counterparts, rural residents do not sufficiently utilize their open spaces and natural amenities to exercise since rural areas and small towns are more likely to lack the kinds of infrastructure that make walking safe and convenient.
To create healthy communities, walking and bicycling are recommended. However, walking can be much harder to promote than the latest new drug. Rural residents should figure out how to boost this supply of miracle "drug" for themselves and their communities.
