NIMH Study Finds People with Serious Mental Illnesses Can Lose Weight


The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)-funded study indicates that people suffering from serious mental illnesses can lose weight and maintain weight loss through a proper lifestyle intervention program.

The intervention program brings in nutritionists and experts to these menially ill patients through frequentópsychiatric rehabilitation. The findings are published in the online issue of New England Journal of Medicine.
