Federal Budget Dispute Halts Tuition Grants to D.C. College Students

D.C.'s college students are feeling the severe impact of the federal budget cut or sequestration. Most of the students rely on federal grant programs to cover student financial aid.

A tuition assistance grant was already held back due to the sequestration as it stops tuition payments for thousands of college students in the D.C. area. However, tuition grants could resume if the government passes a resolution on September 30, the end of fiscal 2013.
