Richard C. Morais, Barron's Penta’s editor, outlines how philanthropic causes are being usurped just to conceal a transparent corporate sales pitch.

Morais notes that the affluent can see through a marketing tactic a mile away and constantly seeks for authentic philanthropy sans the insincere charitable interests. The issue was brought on the table at an event called, "Authentic Philanthropy: The New Age of Corporate Giving" held at the DiMenna Center in New York.
