Washington, D.C. Faces Recurrent Family Homelessness Crisis

Washington, D.C. is currently facing family homelessness issues as it presents the latest findings showing that over a thousand families are homeless in the city.

According to Amber Harding, an attorney of the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless, Washington, D.C. is granting shelter to families only when the "temperatures fall below 32 degrees." So, the District has no responsibility to offer temporary shelter and housing support legally. For the District's homeless, finding affordable housing is a challenge, but they remain hopeful.
