Four Discovered Genes Linked With Severe Childhood Obesity

Genome-wide researchers have discovered four genes recently associated with severe childhood obesity. They also stumbled on an amplified burden of atypical structural variations in severely obese children.

According to the research, genes, behavior and environment, all contribute to the development of obesity. The research team found that different genes can be involved in severe childhood obesity compared to obesity in adults.
