Genes Contribute to Obesity, Latest Study Finds

An international research team (Genetic Investigation of ANthropometrical Traits) has discovered seven new gene loci that are associated with obesity. The findings will be published in Nature Genetics' latest issue.

The research team's goals were to address new genes that increase the risk of obesity, but also to compare genetic factors that result in severe obesity.
