Increase of Elderly at Risk of Homelessness, ABS Finds


A report from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reveals an increase in the numbers of elderly that are at risk of homelessness in the private rental market.

Housing for the Aged Action Group's tenancy advice worker, Jeff Fiedler, speaks of the issues faced by older tenants and the rental housing market as an uncertain niche. Many older people can be evicted in an instant because of the pricey rent, Fields said.
