An experiment conducted by economists of Universities of Bonn and Bamberg have found that markets erode moral concerns.

Seen on the journal "Science", the results of the experiment claim that markets reduce moral concerns because people ignore their own moral standards when it comes to being market participants. The report states that these people seek out the cheapest food, fashion and appliances, but compromising their moral decisions.
