Community Development Block Grant Program Features New Projects in Weber County

Two latest projects have been lined up for 2013 by the Community Development Block Grant program. The projects are deemed to improve the lives of low-wage families in Weber County.

The Wasatch Front Regional Council Review Committee approved the projects through a rating and ranking process. The public has also participated in providing input at a hearing during the Commission meeting.

Social Enterprise Cafe Offers Youth Second Chance

Not your typically standing cafe, the Stables Cafe, which was set up by Glen Duckett from Thwaites pub the Eagle and Child Ramsbottom in Lancashire,  is a place where youths are being given second chances at life. These youths  have been long-term unemployed, homeless or have served juvenile detention.
