McManus Delves Into US-Style Philanthropy Issue

John McManus, business editor of the Irish Times, digs into the issue foregoing European philanthropic models and advocating for US-style philanthropy instead.

McManus points at Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan and businessman Frank Flannery who he both called on for encouraging US-style philanthropy. McManus notes that Ireland should ferret out the charity-giving designs as pictured by Hogan and Flannery and determine whether US-style philanthropy is good for the nation as a whole.
