EITC Expansion Plan for Low-Wage Childless Workers


New York City has announced the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), an anti-poverty and pro-work program, expansion plan for low-income workers without dependents.

Up to $2,000 in reimbursements is being offered by the four-year pilot program for three consecutive years to participants that earn an annual salary of $26,000 or less. The pilot program will test the possibility of using an expanded EITC to fend off poverty by promoting work among the grownups without children.
