How SNAP Works


The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or food stamps, caters to low-income households and offers them several benefits for purchasing food.

SNAP is perceived as a work support that supplements the wages of low-income individuals and families especially during an economic depression. SNAP also has work requirements and have several provisions designed for specific populations. The SNAP E&T provides grant funding for SNAP recipients to score employment.
