Community Wide Intervention Can Reduce Child Obesity

According to new study from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University and Tufts University School of Medicine, community-based approaches can be effective in addressing obesity among children.

The Shape Up Somerville: Eat Smart Play Hard™ intervention is designed and implemented by Tufts University researchers and Somerville community that examined the city's public school students and the environment they live in. The findings are published online in the journal Preventive Medicine.
