According to research published in the Psychology & Aging journal, older adults who spend their time volunteering at least 200 hours in a year are less likely to develop hypertension compared to their non-volunteering peers.
The findings expose larger increase in psychological wellbeing and exercises also were significantly associated with at least 200 hours of volunteer participation.
