In the July issue of the Journal of Adolescent Health, a research team from the UCLA Department of Psychiatry conducted a study on the Youth Empower Seminar, or YES!, a youth-based seminar that coaches how to deal with stress, control their emotions, resolve conflicts and manage brash attitudes.
The nonprofit International Association for Human Values manages the YES! program which comprises of yoga-based breathing exercises. The research found that students who have undergone four-week YES! sessions felt less impulsive.
