Centre for Better Health, a Hackney community-based mental health charity, runs an artisan bakery called Better Health Bakery.
The bakery offers people with mental health problems the opportunity to develop their skills for further training or employment. The placement aims to develop trainees' skills in bread-making as well as fortify their employability for potential future employers.
Village Capital announced the winners of the $50,000 prize awarded to social entrepreneurs who don’t “self-define as social entrepreneurs”. The winners didn’t start out thinking of themselves as social enterprises.
